31.Aug.2009 Global ThermoNuclear Apocalypse? Preposterous!

A global nuclear fallout wouldn’t be so bad, would it?  I mean honestly, there are a few countries, hell even a few US cities, that I wouldn’t mind seeing vaporized sometime soon.  But total global thermonuclear apocalypse?  Not any time soon.  In fact our money is on zombie apocalypse.  It would play out better on the history channel and in text books in the distant future.

Unless every one of the 192 countries of the United Nations had at launched 6465 nuclear warheads each, there would be no way to cover the land surface populated by humans.  Here’s a graphical breakdown of why nuclear weapons are not going to cause the end of the world.
