It’s funny when you find predictions to what the future will be like in old magazines and newspapers. Popular Science is a good example. The thought that human-like robots and flying cars would be an everyday occurrence by the year 2000 was a popular assumption. But things happen that change the path of the future, and predictions don’t always become true. Sometimes predictions are so far from the truth that it’s comical.
We found this hilarious article from the August 1985 issue of Ebony magazine. Apparently, Ebony commissioned an artist to produce images of what famous African-American stars would look like in the year 2000. However, the absolute best was what Ebony believed Michael Jackson would look like at the age of forty. Click on the image for a bigger picture, and read the caption provided. That’s the real kicker.
For all those diehard MJ fans who say that it is too soon after his death, just ask yourself if you would laugh at this if he was still alive. We think you would.
We found this picture this morning while reading people’s comments on Facebook (thanks Ed). Yesterday was a news reporter’s dream come true. First, Kanye West’s outburst at the 2009 VMAs left everyone fuming over what he did to Taylor Swift. Then, the sad news that Patrick Swayze’s pancreas finally exploded, and he was dead. Well we could care less about either, so we figured we would knock out the most talked about news stories today with this picture. Classy, no. Hysterical, yes.
You can hate us after you laugh. We’ll accept it.
Think you’re the only person who hates uncontrolled kids? Well, we do too. Damn grubby, snot-nosed little kids these days have no respect for anything. They always seem to be mouthing off and crying about wanting this or needing that. They’re always saying, “I want to take a shower, mommy!” or “I haven’t eaten this week, can I have some bread please?” It’s so annoying. They don’t do anything you ask them to do, either. You tell them to run to the store to pick you up a pack of rubbers and a forty oz and they say stuff like, “but daddy, I’m only eight years old.” Well we’ve had it up to here with all this hubbub. We’ve come up with a plan to change all this starting right now.
We’re going to blame the parents. It’s only fair. By targeting the source of the problem, maybe we can help to change the future of child discipline. To see what we mean, check out the examples below.

OK. So we’ve seen people with photographic memory. We’ve seen people that can draw. We’ve even seen a guy get gonorrhea from a dirty mattress once… but that’s a whole other story altogether. But this is crazy. During an appearance on Minnesota Public Radio’s Midday at the Minnesota State Fair, Senator Al Franken drew a map of all 50 states from memory. He has done this before, which makes us wonder if he’s really human. If robots become self-aware and destroy us, and Franken becomes ruler of the world, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
You can check out the other two videos we found of Franken drawing the US below.

A recent article in the LA Times caught our eye online the other day that claims that the Ikea store in Beijing, China is one of the top hangouts for Chinese hipsters, and families alike. Locals consider it the best place to grab a bite to eat, kick up your feet and read a book, or take a nap. In fact, people even curl up under the blankets and sleep for hours on end. Supposedly, it is also one of the only major commercial stores in China where you can take a picture inside without getting bullied by the security guards. We’re not quite sure why you would want to take pictures inside of Ikea, but hey… whatever floats your boat. We’ve added the rest of the pictures below…
